“We’re like one big, happy family!"
I joined Tek Experts back in 2014. The company wasn’t as big as it is now, but I could still tell that it would be a good place for me to get lots of experience and build a great career in IT. I started as a Level 1 Support Engineer, but within a year I was promoted to Software Support Engineer Level 2. It’s excellent how quickly you can move up here.
My job now is providing support to Level 1 Software and Level 1 Technical Engineers when they need and operational advice. Sometimes you’ll get a customer with an issue you’ve never heard before – that’s when the Level 1 Engineers will come to me for help. For example, we recently had a customer who couldn’t back-up their files and couldn’t understand why it wouldn’t work. With some amazing teamwork, we quickly identified the issue helped him solve his problem. He was one happy customer.
Big, happy family
Everybody who works here seems to get on with each other – we’re like one big, happy family. I learn a lot from my colleagues on the technical skills and Japanese culture – especially the Level 3 Support Engineers. That’s what I hope to become soon. I already manage 20 Level 1 Engineers, but I’m ambitious and want to take on more responsibility. And the training you get here is amazing – I feel like I can achieve anything.
I think I’m a nice manager, but I would say that wouldn’t I? I just want to help my team be the best it can be. I think that’s why I fit in so well at Tek Experts, as everybody is nice here, including the leaders. You can go up to anybody and ask for advice and get a helpful answer. I think it’s because we have an open and friendly company culture where everybody wants the same thing: to do an amazing job for the customer and our client.
If somebody were to ask me if they should apply for a software support engineer job at Tek Experts, I’d say “Go for it”. It’s an excellent company to work for and you’ll never be bored.
