Our USA veteran pledge

Tek Experts believe it’s so important for us to acknowledge the service that our dedicated men and women veterans have performed, and to say thank you. That’s why we have a commitment to our local community here in Colorado Springs to support our veterans into civilian life.

Your diverse work experience, and proven attributes including teamwork, dedication to a job, perseverance problem solving, integrity, great work ethic, and leadership are values we share. We have seen some of our highest performers coming from our veteran recruits.

20% of our team are veterans or military spouses! We want to deepen this commitment with structured training and support to help transition into a new career and civilian life.

Tek Experts are proud to support our veterans and, because we have faith in your abilities and potential as well as respect for your achievements, we want to give you the guidance and support you need to transition effectively.
Come and speak to our team about the amazing training we offer including soft skills and technology, read some of our articles from current employees and former veterans to transition into civilian life today.

Message from Henry Martin – Site Manager, Colorado Springs
“We recognize the impact that our military veterans have in our overall community. We are grateful for their service to their country and we’re thrilled to get to work alongside them as they make their transition back into civilian life. We’ve found that our relationship with our veterans creates a mutually beneficial ‘symbiotic relationship’ – they get the benefits of working with an organization that recognizes the challenges that come with transitioning back to civilian life, and we get the benefit of unique skills and abilities that they learned during their time with the military!”

Vets and Tek? Why our values define us

Joining any new team can be a challenge for vets and partners of vets as they move bases, making friends and find new jobs. So, what’s it like at Tek Experts and do our values fit in with yours? Site Manager and military ‘brat’ Henry Martin explains:

Values define who we are as a company. We want our people to understand our wider vision, how we go about providing our ‘Customer first’ service and how we empower them to go the ‘Extra mile.’

To retrain those values, I only recruit people who are a good fit for the values. It’s much more important to me that we hire somebody who has the Tek Experts DNA, rather than simply because they have all of the relevant certifications. Why? Because it's much easier to train somebody how to deliver support than to change someone’s core personality.

We believe the secret to our team’s success, is that we’re not your typical call center and we don’t even describe ourselves as one. There’s no rigid script to stick to, no wallboard showing waiting callers, and no one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, people have the flexibility to find the best solution for the customer; using their creativity and problem-solving skills to do so. Because there’s nobody waiting on the phone expecting an immediate answer, engineers and support teams  have the time and go back to the customer when they have the right answer.

When you join is you can expect to be given the platform to build a career in the IT support industry. The Springs office is unique in that it’s strongly represented military veterans and their spouses. The structure we have in place supports a learning environment and sets you up for success in the future.

Spouse story: Want an international feel while working locally?

Palmira Frye talks about her experience and journey to us plus a few of the most appreciated benefits she gets. There’s quite a few veteran spouses here like me, it’s nice to be able to reflect on those times with people at work who can also relate.

Early start, early finish
My day starts early at 6:00 am. That’s because I take Brazilian customer problems. The early start really works for me. It means I can finish early and still have time to manage my home décor business, before I have to do my family duties – I have four children! I’m always on the go, but that’s how I like it. As a Critical Situation Manager, you have to be comfortable with being busy. You’re often managing multiple customer issues, which means allocating and dispatching engineers, while keeping the customer updated, with the aim of bringing cases to a resolution as quickly as possible.

International feel
This job is perfect if you’re a people person like me. I get to help people all day. Speaking three languages – English, French and Portuguese – I help people from all around the world. If you want an international feel while working locally – and still go home to your family at the end of the day – this is the place for you.
