As parts of its women empowerment initiatives, the Women’s Network of Tek Experts Nigeria recently partnered with global NGO, Dress for Success (DFS). The mission of the not-for-profit organization is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
Our Women’s network hosted the session at our offices in Lagos and we had in attendance female members of staff from Tek Experts, some of our global leaders, the lovely Dress for Success beneficiaries, and even our founder, Yaniv Natan popped by to say hi!
We also had some beneficiaries of the NGO share stories of their journey with Dress for success particularly how it has been a life-transforming journey. One of the ladies in the Tek Experts Women Network, Abisola Onojobi, gave the DFS ladies a brief talk on ‘How to become the Unstoppable You’, encouraging them to “not pay attention to negative comments but instead work hard, show up, prioritize, continuously improve yourself and be true to yourself”.
To close the event, the Country Manager of Tek Experts Nigeria, Ashim Egunjobi gave a concluding speech where she encouraged the ladies not to see limitations but to always step out in confidence, ask leading questions and always put their very best foot forward.
Our ladies finally presented the DFS beneficiaries with a selection of power blazers, suits and dresses to encourage the ladies and help them look good on their success journey.
Our Women at Tek Network is one of the many ways that we at Tek Experts show we care about inclusion and diversity in the IT industry. The network in Nigeria has a strong participation of over 100 ladies and growing! Over the past few months, we have had various facilitators including our Founder, Yaniv Natan, Our CEO, Naama Saar, our COO, Zhenya Fileva-Dobriyanova and seasoned Finance and Banking professional, Abiola Adekoya who encouraged the ladies to pay more attention to their personal finances in order to secure better futures.
