“This was the perfect environment for my internship – and it’s led to a full-time job!”

Tek Experts has given me a chance to prove myself as an IT support professional and I’m very thankful for that. It’s not easy to get that first foot in the door, so when I got the opportunity to take part in a six-month internship at Tek Experts China, I took it!

I had some previous technical training and I’ve tried to teach myself some essential IT support skills, but I know I’ve still got a lot to learn. In my time at Tek Experts, I’ve really improved my technical and communication skills and I’ve also become a much more confident communicator.

Problem solving feels good!

The team at Tek Experts China have really made me feel like part of the team. In the first few weeks, I underwent some intensive training to get me up to speed on the product I would be supporting. As soon as I was ready, I was solving customer issues, putting my training into practice. I’ve now solved more problems than I can remember!

One particular problem has stayed with me. It raised a lot of questions, which needed to be answered quickly as it was an urgent case. It really played on my mind – I wanted to solve it as quickly as possible, but I couldn’t find the right answers. But all that changed when I spoke with my colleagues. We worked together and found the best solution for the customer. Afterwards, the customer gave me some great feedback, which made me feel really good.

I have a great relationship with my IT support colleagues. During my training, we discussed the idea of being stronger together. Having worked in the team for six months, I’ve seen that value in action. We all trust one another and we help each other in any way we can, sharing our knowledge.

Fun and friendly environment

This is the perfect environment for me. It’s friendly, fun and inspiring. I also have a good work/life balance, which is really important to me as I like travelling in my spare time. I was delighted when Tek Experts China offered me a full-time IT support position as a junior engineer. It felt like a reward for all the hard work I’ve put in over the course of the internship. It just goes to show that hard work does pay off! My next step is to develop my technical and language skills, and work towards becoming an L2 engineer.
