"I embrace and enjoy change "
When somebody told me I was one of the longest-serving Tek Experts member of staff, I couldn’t quite believe it. It doesn’t feel like I’ve been here that long but that’s because the organization is always evolving and expanding and giving teams new challenges all the time. I think that’s why I haven’t felt the need to switch jobs, as I embrace and enjoy change.

Humble beginnings 

When I joined in 2012, Tek Experts was still only a small company. We were primarily serving US-based customers, which meant working night shifts here in Bulgaria so that we were available to support them during their working day.

The company has grown a lot since I started. We had different offices, the teams were much smaller – in fact, the organization wasn’t even called ‘Tek Experts’ back then, it had a different name. But the type of people that we hire has never changed – we’re all hard-working and driven to realize our potential, with a mindset of always putting the customer first.

Mutual growth 

It’s been incredible seeing the company grow. We’ve done it by always exceeding the expectations of our clients; building a trusted relationship with them so they expand their relationship with us.

As the company has grown, so have I as an IT professional. I started as a Level 1 Support Engineer – I’m now a Level 3 Support Engineer, the highest level of support. There’s quite a bit of responsibility resting on my shoulders now, but I love the challenge.

I also get great support from my manager, who is always trying to help me progress. We discuss new ideas on a regular basis and apply good practices – it’s a very collaborative relationship.

I’ve been lucky enough to have some great managers during my time at the company. They understand that we have lives outside of work – so if we need some time off for personal reasons, they’ll try to accommodate you. I love having a job with this much flexibility.

Dynamic work 

If you’re a techy like me, you’ll love the type of work we do here. The software I support is very dynamic, with new functionality and updates constantly being applied. I have to keep up to date with these changes, look at how it functions in different environments and how it interacts with third-party software. It’s challenging and interesting and that’s what keeps me going.

I think I’m going to have many more happy years at Tek Experts. The company shows no signs of slowing down, which should mean that I’ll never be bored here. And when you add all the great people into the mix, you know you’re on to a winner.
