“When I was promoted I felt amazing.”
It’s a cool feeling to get my clients and their customers up and running when I’ve helped fix their issue. As a Level 2 Engineer I get the issues that urgent or complex. I get to look at all the data collected on issue like screen shots, data Level 1 Engineer notes and check what has already been tried. I’ll set up a call with customer and client and guide them through the best way to solve their issue. If it’s a coding problem, I get our software development team involved. On the rare occasion, I escalated to a subject matter expert to help.

I worked in a customer call center before Tek Experts. I wasn’t going anywhere really, so I finally decided to get started and work on my career. I had heard about a new company in town and I joined as a Level 1 Engineer. After three months, I was promoted to a supervisor and I kept on learning about the technology when I then became a Level 2 Engineer and a Team Leader of seven. When I was promoted I felt amazing. I had been pushing myself a lot during the day and when all that effort paid off, made it all worthwhile. I had a plan that took two years to make it happen I had accomplished what I sent out to do.  I pushed myself hard and with the support of Tek Experts I got my goal.

What I love about this job is coming to work every day and being guaranteed to learn something new. Every day it’s a different issue or challenge my customers are experiencing I get to help and solve them. That feels amazing and you know, not all companies can offer you that feeling. All my team have a fun time and love learning and we all share want we’ve learnt.
 

Overseas opportunity

The other way I’ve grown is being part of the training team. I help with the new starters and work on making training material. Our Bulgarian office wanted me to help out with their training so I flew out and for three months I got to train their Level 1 Engineers. Then recently I was asked again to help train staff and this time I flew to China for two months, which is wild if you think about it! You got to remember this is still my first technology focused job and I am so grateful of the amount of growing up and learning this company has given me.

If you’re thinking of joining us in Costa Rica or any other office, you’ve got to be looking for responsibility and serious fun. Never stop looking there are lots of opportunities here and management don’t put limits on what you can and can’t do. If you want it, push for it.

I’ve got a new member of my family who takes up a lot of my time, Boris my doggy. He’s still a puppy and needs training and walking and playing with. He makes me laugh – a lot.
