About the role...

Country managers are proactive, with strong operational experience, keen business acumen, and advanced people skills. They use these skills to ensure that diverse stakeholders work together to the benefit of each site. The foundation of the role is responsibility for general management and local operations in alignment with Tek Expert’s global mission, strategic objectives, and standard operating policies and procedures. Country Managers are self-motivated, comfortable adapting to change, effective in managing ambiguity, and capable of embedding culture in all they do.

At Tek Experts, Country Managers are representatives of the CEO to the local team and vice versa, facilitating communication both ways and leading eight annual Town Halls. They keep our people informed of global initiatives, driving compliance and implementation. As expert integrators of our global and local functions, Country Managers enable optimal collaboration between our operations and business enablement teams. We give our Country Managers responsibility for maximizing productivity and profitability, with an equal focus on ROI and cost saving. They have ownership over country growth and guide local business development with the direct support of the Global Sales Organization. They work in close collaboration with the Operations and Recruiting teams to source and scale the local team to achieve billable targets

What you’ll be doing

    • Develop a regional strategic plan with recommended objectives to present to the CEO and      Global Leadership Team. 
    • Accomplish regional objectives by establishing and managing a plan and budgets, allocating resources, assigning tasks and KPIs to their managerial team, measuring results/impact, reviewing progress, and making periodic course corrections.
    • Ensure that the site follows global processes across financial, operational, reporting, selection, onboarding, performance management, succession mapping for key roles, training needs, ethical business practices, and development plans.
    • Provide oversight of projects, facilities, and vendor agreements.
    • Liaise with global management and provides reports on activities.
    • Act as a point-of-contact to ensure local leaders have support from global operational and functional leaders. 
    • Manage availability and utilization of resources throughout the site. Agreement on productivity savings and growth targets as required. 
    • Manage shrinkage, sourcing, and scaling the workforce in partnership with Operations and Recruiting.
    • Take responsibility for all financial management of the country including all P&L variables (cultural budget, hours, local finances, etc.) to maximize ROI.
    • Share and build the Company brand image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; representing the organization at meetings. 
    • Act as a legal representative for the company working with government, local authorities, media, and other local stakeholders.
    • Responsible for the execution of Business Continuity Plans as required.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Economics, or Business Administration (preferred). 
  • Country, site, and people management experience for a minimum of 5 years with a workforce of 500+ employees. 
  • Experience in workforce management, labor cost management, managing different billing units and managing productivity for profitability.
  • Experience driving projects in alignment with company vision, OKRs, and business strategy.
  • Experience in an international company with remote leadership.
  • Experience managing/leading technical support programs in the technology industry is highly preferred.
  • Strong operations capabilities in customer service and technical services.
  • Leadership skills, well versed in multicultural teams and open to pluralism.     
  • Transparent and hard-working, with the highest levels of integrity and professionalism. 
  • Self-motivated, organized, with a proactive nature.
  • Ability to lead through influence (Note: no functional leads report directly to the Country Manager).
  • Management through the objectives, performance and results of others.
  • High-level critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision making.     
  • Strong command of spoken and written English.
  • Excellent communication and team building skills
